SECONDARY SCHOOL RENOVATIONS
The renovations to the high school building are underway purchased with the funds received from this year’s walk-a-thon. The classrooms and lockers have been painted, new flooring installed and new desks will be arriving prior to the first day of school. Thanks to all those who contributed and helped with the walk-a-thon!
GREEN EMERGENCY FORMS
Just a reminder that Anne Arundel County is requiring that a green emergency form be completed for every student in K3-8th grade. These forms were mailed with the report cards in June. If you have not done so already, please drop off or mail in this form. Thank you!
SECONDARY FALL SPORTS
All students in 7th – 12th grade should have received a letter from the soccer and volleyball coaches regarding summer tryouts and practice. Volleyball tryouts will begin on Monday, August 9th and Soccer practice begins Monday, August 16th. All students playing a fall sport must have a current physical. If you did not receive your letter and are interested in playing a fall sport, please contact the school office.
BIBLES/ASSIGNMENT PADS/RULERS
The King James Bibles are now available for purchase from the school office for $6.00. The assignment pads are also available for $3.00. The rulers for 4th graders are available for $1.25.
SUMMER OFFICE HOURS
Please note our School Office hours for the summer will be:
Monday - Thursday 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
Friday 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

The yearbooks have arrived! Please come by the School Office during our summer office hours and pick up your child’s yearbook.
BACK-TO-SCHOOL NIGHT/PARENT ORIENTATION
Please note this year our back-to-school night will be on Friday, August 27th at 7:00 pm. All parents should make an effort to attend this meeting. Students who are new to Granite may wish to attend as well.

WELCOME MR. MARK WILSON
We would like to welcome Mr. Mark Wilson to our secondary teaching staff for the coming year. Mr. Wilson will be teaching 7th/8th History, 7th/8th Bible, three Spanish classes and Word processing. Mr. Wilson is a graduate of Granite Baptist School and Clearwater Christian College. He has just returned from a year of teaching History at a missionary school in Lima, Peru.
NEW MATH CLASS
We would like to welcome back Mrs. Gravel who is re-joining our teaching staff on a full-time basis. This has allowed us to once again offer Calculus math class to our Juniors and Seniors.
